18 Injured From Out-Of-Control B15 Bus

2009_10_mtabus.jpg Yesterday, 18 people suffered minor injuries when a B15 bus swerved to avoid a suddenly-stopped car on Troy Avenue in Crown Heights. The bus crashed into parked cars and then hit some more at the Atlantic Avenue intersection. One car burst into flames and a driver told the Post, "There were no horns and no brakes. I was trembling. The car door jammed and I couldn’t get out. I thought, ‘Lord, I got to lose some weight, I don’t want to die in this car.’"

One car burst into flames and a driver told the Post, "There were no horns and no breaks..."
Nice grammatical error there, piece-of-shit tabloid.

It's not their error if the driver doesn't know how to speak.

You're (lamely) joking, right? Brakes and breaks are homophones.

Great, Gothamist is now covering up the Post's error by correcting the excerpt posted above. Guys and/or gals, if you want to point out to Gothamist readers that you know there's an error in a quote, you're supposed to add sic, not correct the error. Duh.

It's the B15. Brooklyn buses are designated "B" not "Bk".

"...to avoid a suddenly-stopped car..."

I hope they find that lousy driver.

In a rear-end collision, the fault lies with the driver of the vehicle that did the rear-ending, since it is presumed he was following too closely.

Which is why we need cameras on buses.
