High-Class Call Girl Ring Busted In Westchester

The Westchester DA's office announced yesterday that it took down a "high end call girl enterprise that operated both out-call and in-call prostitution services using more than thirty women over a 29 month period servicing clients in major hotels throughout Westchester County." White Plains residents Kenneth Fuina and Shawana Smith—the alleged ring leaders—were charged with promoting prostitution in the third degree while Queens resident Genevieve Margaret Peattie was charged with prostitution.

Apparently Fuina and Smith "recruited, managed and scheduled" about three dozen women, using hotels like the Rye Town Hilton, the Residence Inn in White Plains, the Crowne Plaza in White Plains, the Doral Arrowwood Hotel in Rye Brook, Springhill Marriott Suites Hotel, the Marriott Courtyard and the Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown. Rates began at $600 and went up to $2,000. And their website said:

"We are a [sic] exclusive New York City/Westchester County based incall/outcall escort agency catering to the upscale gentlemen with a taste for the very best. Our companions are chosen based on style, sophistication. Our current and future clientele are affluent gentlemen of taste and refinement who require sophisticated and classy ladies. Our ladies aim to please ensuring impeccable service with the utmost discretion, while endeavoring to meet and exceed the expectations of our first class clientele. In other words you will be receiving a professional, courteous and most profound experience. Our companions look forward to satisfying you. We are committed to providing an excellent and most enjoyable time that will promote the development of long-term relationships and the full GFE [Girl Friend Experience] experience. Tell us what you desire!"

While Peattie was released without bail, Fuina and Smith are being held on $100,000 bail each—which their lawyer called "exorbinant" as he proclaimed they were innocent.

Why is prostitution illegal? I cannot imagine why anyone would want to pay for sex. It's either the partner is not good enough or they cannot get laid.
