Poll Suggests Bloomberg's Lead Narrowing (His Campaign Disagrees)

2009_10_thompoll.jpg PolitickerNY got an early look at a WABC 7 mayoral election poll conducted by Survey USA: "Bloomberg leads Thompson 51 to 43 percent according to the poll, which has a margin of error of 4.2 percent, and was conducted from October 3 to 5. The poll interviewed 1,000 'adults,' of which 888 were registered voters, and 561 were considered 'likely voters.'"

Later, PolitickerNY added this update: "Bloomberg campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said Survey USA has not been as accurate as other polls in this year's elections, and said, these latest numbers are 'out of whack with other public polls and the reality.'" Well, of course the Bloomberg campaign would prefer the recent Quinnipiac poll that gives him a 16-point lead over City Comptroller Bill Thompson, especially when it has spent $64 million so far!

Why is Monty Burns not represented in this graph?

I'm tired of this obsession with polls. They are so easily manipulated, they are essentially meaningless. Just wait for election day already.

these polls are too daamn manipulative

I saw a poll that declared Bloomberg had already won, declared Marshall Law and dispelled of term limits altogether.

Bloomberg for mayor for life!

Bloomberg has been mailing out negative campaign literature recently.

You don't go negative if you think you are going to win.

Time to end the term-limit despot.
