The "Most Brow-Beating Interview in TV History"!

This morning Rep. Anthony Weiner met former New York Lieutenant Governor (and current insane person) Betsy McCaughey on MSNBC's Morning Meeting to debate yell about health care. Though Weiner and McCuaghey had their moments, most of the horn-locking happened between her and host Dylan Ratigan, who would not stop demanding she answer his question: How do you get insurance companies to compete instead of monopolizing markets with antitrust exemptions. Or, as Ratigan puts it, how do we "put an end to corporate communism?" Skip ahead to the four minute mark, when the fireworks get started.

Alternatively, break out the bongos and read the highlights out loud as beat poetry, or maybe a transcript of children bickering:

Weiner: You want to scare seniors because that's your business!

McCuaghey: You're not a very fair moderator, you know!
Ratigan: You're not a very fair answerer!

McCuaghey: Anthony, you are ignorant about health insurance!
Weiner: Name-calling is your thing!
McCuaghey: No, you're the one whose the name-caller!

McCuaghey: This will go down in history as one of the most brow-beating interviews in television history!
Ratigan: I hope that it does and maybe you'll learn at that point to answer questions!
McCuaghey: Let me finish!
Ratigan: Answer my question!

According to Politico, after the interview, McCuaghey supposedly said to Ratigan, "You are a disgrace to journalism," to which Ratigan replied, "You were a great guest, except that we usually want answers to our questions." The interview came a day after Weiner and McCaughey clashed during a debate at NYU Medical Center.

And there was also a typically shrill town hall meeting on health care reform in Staten Island last night, where the raucous crowd of 800 shouted down NAACP president Ed Josey when he made radical comments like, "Everyone deserves health care." Rep. Michael McMahon also declared, "I will not be threatened or scared by anyone," which sounds like the kind of thing you say when someone's scaring you, but can you blame him? The torches are lit and the pitchforks are sharpened, y'all!

"Death panel deathmatch" -- this (part of the ) world is truly retarded

I want actual physical brow beating.

Elected officials reap campaign contributions from Big Business, and will continue to do so. Big Business also has all their fingers in all the right pies to disseminate information that frightens people away from change/reform.

If you frighten the voters, then you frighten the politicians. Frighten them, and you keep your cartel.

If that cycle is broken, you better be on your best behavior, because Jesus himself is back on earth.

She's irreparably tainted the health-care debate with pure conjecture. She's been at it for decades, therefore she's got decades of brow-beating ahead of her.

It's unfortunate however that Ratigan dropped the "appearance" of impartiality. His career won't be the same.

It's a two-person debate and Anthony Weiner figured out a way to be a backbencher here, too. This guy thinks he can be mayor? He can't even get a word in between his adversary and the moderator. Imagine him up against the city council, the UFT, and the general public.

Ratigan is fucking annoying. How the hell do they have him proctoring a political debate. He Shouldve stayed on fast money with the rest of those hacks

weak regulations will be the safe heaven of corruption

"How do you get insurance companies to compete instead of monopolizing markets with antitrust exemptions."

a/try tort reform, if you can pry the millions the lawyers give to the dems.

b/ why should I have to pay a higher rate / buy insurance from a company that the GOVT REQUIRES the company cover drug addicts and gender transfer surgery?

c/ if monopolizing markets is the problem, why are so many insurance companies who sell to half the country NOT ALLOWED TO SELL TO NY?

BECAUSE OF POLITICIANS.

There's lots to fix. Why don't we hear ANYTHING about these alternative reform plans?

All of you making fun of McCaughey are begging for the govt takeover when they can't run:

the post office
the DMV
amtrack
cash for clunkers
stimulus BS
"war"

You think going to the doctor is a PITA now? Wait till they are all UNIONIZED...

PS - if the obamaplan is so good, how come the UNIONS & THE GOVT ARE EXEMPT?

She's in way over her head against those other 2 who clearly have a whole lot more IQ points. However Ratigan was baiting her and that's mini-minded.

How can anyone believe Anthony Weiner?

Unfortunately, Congressman Weiner will say anything to support his arguments, regardless of whether or not it is true. In a debate on Lou Dobbs Tonight, Congressman Weiner asserted no less than six times that illegal immigrants would not be able to purchase health insurance through the Health Insurance Exchange established by HR 3200.

In fact he stated specifically, "We policymakers have already said you can't sign up for insurance, you can't sign up for any of the benefits if you're not documented. That's easy to verify and that's in the law."

Yet his own staff knows that this is a lie!

In an email from Weiner Washington staffer, Marie Ternes, she states, "undocumented immigrants would be allowed to participate in the insurance exchange."

So why does Weiner continue to spew lies?
