You knew that the heated competition between street food vendors is getting increasingly acrimonious, but did you know that it's tearing families apart? Over the weekend, a Midtown Lunch reader spotted this sign on 45th Street advertising newcomer Fahima Halal Food, which is declaring its food to be Halal-of-a-lot-better than nearby vendor Kwik Meal.
What is Kwik Meal, you say? That's a mini-chain of Lamb & Rice carts owned by Muhammed Rahman—who happens to be the brother of the Fahima Halal Food owner. Given the already violent reputation of the "Halal Mafia," we expect the gutters of 45th Street to soon be flooded with blood.

A Fatah/Hamas war coming to your own backyard! Wonderful!
The enemy of my brother is my friend and makes a great shwarma.
Anyone who consumes this garbage will flood the streets with feces...
For context, what are the prices?
"Halal-of-a-lot-better"
very smooth.
no one is safe.
I work across the street. Kwik Meal has good rice, real yogurt, and real lamb. But the portions are not worth $7-9.
The other guy is decent, has more fresh vegetables, and costs bout $5. Processed lamb and no real yogurt though.
Not a big fan of Kwik Meal's green sauce. These two can do whatever they want, the best chicken and rice is on 52nd and 6th (not 53rd and 6th)
Infidels!
There is no greater cart than the Biryani Cart on 46th Street!
Praised be the Kati Rolls!
