Fireworks For Manhattan Bridge's 100th Birthday

Yesterday was the Manhattan Bridge's centennial and the celebrations were capped off by fireworks. Check out these photographs from our readers.

Ah, so that's what I was hearing last night.

Wait, I thought there were fireworks going on for the People's Republic of China's 60th Anniversary? Am I wrong? I swear the first stretch of fireworks was only red and yellow, then there was another multicolored display that started later.

How come Gothamist doesn't let us know about these things BEFORE they happen, so we could have the opportunity to participate?

Pic #5 shows the wrong fireworks. There were two sets of fireworks on the East River last night. Around 7:30 there was a display at South Street Seaport in honor of Diwali. And around 8:15 there was a second display off Corlears Hook (between the Manhattan and WillyB bridges) for the Manhattan Bridge 100th Anniversary.
