Still Talk in Albany That Paterson May Resign

2009_09_patersonmtp.jpg The "will he or won't he" talk surrounding Governor Paterson's 2010 campaign is once again getting overshadowed by speculation that Paterson may not even finish his term. "One of the state's most prominent Democrats" tells Fred Dicker that they think the governor may pass the state's reins over to Richard Ravitch by next spring. Dicker adds that a longtime Paterson backer called his Meet the Press appearance "a pathetic performance" and other Dems are referring to him as "finished," "dead meat," and "not among the political living."

he should stay off the tv & try to get some work done.

  • Think2wice

    Again with the dithering?

  • Steven

Patterson had such high hopes. Too bad he destroyed himself in the process.

  • felixthecat2

Yes he isn't king. He should resign. He has no allies in Albany. Coumo won't do anything to Espada. Damn Why couldn't Spitzer keep it in his pants? No pussy is worth it.

FelixJr, but don't you see--it's not about "any particular" puzzy, but puzzy in general. So, for him, it probably was worth it. The sad thing is that Paterson, who was effective in the state senate, was the wrong man for the wrong time. In a best case, as he even said somewhere recently, he'd have been appointed to the U.S. Senate to replace newly elected Pres. Clinton. Now where stuck with K.G. who seems hardly senatorial and is destined for no warm-up fight and and probably a loss in what will be an ugly statewide election.

    David, please just go away.

He should resign to stick it to cuomo who has been pulling the strings on the attacks on Paterson. Don't trust a cuomo. Paterson should put in legislation to screw bloomberg and then resign. Paterson can leave office in a blaze instead of dead. If I knew my days were numbered I would go renegade.

  • ANGRYGOD11

Patterson is the governor, not the king.

If he had that sort of power, he would be using it to make changes and not whining about Albany.

  • SeasTooFarToReach

    This is sensationalist bs.

I don't see Paterson pulling a Palin here. Whether he should run for another term is another thing.

  • silver

Best way to force a bureaucrat to resign is to "leak" to the media that he will have a resignation press conference tomorrow.

  • BP Jackson

Sure, just leave a message from your mom's cellphone. That will provide you with enough cover while still seeming legit.
