I know I'm going to take some flak for this opinion, but how is that subway graffiti anything else than vandalism, which should be punished? Bring it on, gothamist readers...tell me how it qualifies as "art" or "personal expression."

I think that sharpie washes off of those interior surfaces. There must be a reason you don't see much more of it.

There's generally a lot less graffiti applied to subway cars.
The walls of subway stations seem to be experiencing a resurgence of graffiti and tagging, however.

I agree, but I find that this particular graffito has some charm (not enough to make me want it to remain), unlike the typical eyesore.

Yeah, it's vandalism.
It's vandalism that would have made me smirk if I had seen it in person. So, I'm glad it was posted here since it's probably gone already.

Chicago may get it, but Rio from what I hear is the favorite. Madrid won't get it only because England just had it in 2012 (They try not to have the games in the same Continent back to back)

Give it to Rio. South America should have its their already. its time.

I still haven't forgotten that Brazil imprisoned and wants to try those two American private jet pilots involved in a midair collision there to cover up the fact the fault lies with their air traffic control system. Since the U.S. had the winter games not that long ago, I say give it to Tokyo.

Obama flies all the way to Denmark just to make a sales pitch then lectures everyone else on carbon emissions? Another enviro-hypocrite with a carbon footprint the size of the Grand Canyon.

Why do you hate Chicago's efforts for an economic boost and, by extension, America?

January Jones was in NYC?

I like the new Leno format. Less empty-headed chatter with so-called celebrities, and more, and varied, comic pieces. It's a bit like an old fashioned variety show.

He is also using his high-profile soapbox, along with his own personal interest in automobiles, to promote building and using more efficient and alternative-fuel powered motor vehicles.
