NYPD Launches Investigation Regarding Anti-Gay Attack

mccoys0909hayes.jpg Yesterday we reported on an anti-gay attack that occurred in Hell's Kitchen this past Friday night. WPLJ DJ Blake Hayes (pictured), cabaret and Broadway performer Danny Calvert, and another friend were attacked by a patron of McCoy's bar; they claim the police officers who showed up refused to take their attacker's information, or let them file a claim. They also expressed concern that McCoy's bouncer (who stopped the attack) allowed the attacker back into the bar.

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn has now released a statement regarding the incident, saying in part, "I am obviously outraged by news that another bias attack has occurred in our city. But I am also deeply concerned by reports from the victims that NYPD officers responding to the scene did not appropriately recognize the seriousness of the incident. In fact, it has been reported that they failed to attempt to apprehend or even to collect contact information from the alleged assailant. If these reports are true, the behavior of the police officers involved was also outrageous and merits swift action by the police department."

Regarding their alleged negligence, Police Commissioner Kelly’s office has agreed to conduct an investigation. Hayes has updated his website, giving thanks to those who have come forward to support him since the incident occurred.

Quinn is full of it. She calls for an investigation but I bet there won't be anyone fired or suspended. Quinn is beholden to the Queens Machine whose are mostly OLD IRISH CATHOLICS who have NO tolerance for Homosexuality. They are bigots and she is their puppet and does their bidding for their support. The Queens Machine "elected" her to Speaker. Quinn won't even endorse Thompson for Mayor. She is a CLOSETED republican.

She shuns gay issues for non-gay support. She is a self-hating homosexual. She doesn't even picture herself with her partner. She plays straight for the straight crowd.
http://www.radicalhomosexualagenda.org/. Quinn betrays people living with HIV, she betrays civil liberties on freedom of Assembly etc.

The police often don't bother to make a report when straight people are victimized too, but I guess there's only this much outrage when a gay person is involved. In any event, the cops should always make a report if somebody says they've been victimized. I suspect that there's more to this story than the alleged victims claim.

If the attack came out of nowhere without words being exchanged, perhaps the Police would've done something. I think they saw it as more of a minor scuffle. But none the less, they should've investigated further and filed the claim.

But your right. Theres more to this than meets the eye.

"Police Commissioner Kelly’s office has agreed to conduct an investigation"-How about an independent investigation to highlight the police' misdoings and how reforms of these practices must be made.

jumping the gun on the "anti-gay attack."

thug-nasties may often call you names before plowing you in the face, it adds insult to injury. there's nothing to indicate that the attacker actually knew the dudes were gay -- it's not like they were having a hot, male-on-male makeout session while walking down 9th.

It doesn't matter whether the victim is gay or not. It's not the same as someone calling you 'asshole' before punching you in the face. Calling anyone a 'faggot' is an anti-gay assault. It creates a hostile living environment for every gay person. Don't I have the right to walk down the street in my own neighborhood without fear of being singled out for verbal assault, not because I acted like an asshole, or wore a Red Sox cap past the wrong bar, but because some small-dicked turd needs to prove he's not a 'faggot' by beating up on me?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGbTb1tOLKc. Exactly and these drivers even told some protestors to die of Aids and yet Quinn supports this industry because of the Queens Machine. all the hatred and corruption are all connected. Quinn ties to the Queens Machine and the Mayor has compromised her.

Enough with the horse thing and same old video already.
It's like a loop tape of the same old song.
"You don't have to put on the red light..."

using the word "faggot" is not an assault. you haven't spent much time around thugs, frat boys, construction workers, etc. have you?

and yes everyone has the right to walk down the street unharmed. but like i said before, the idea that this is a hate-crime has not been firmly established by the events or the nonchalant reaction of johnny law.

you might agree that diluting the term "anti-gay attack" does a disservice to victims of hate crimes, so let's find out what an investigation turns up.

Quinn and the cops are full of shit. The best recourse for this kind of thing is a broken bottle over a coward homophobe's head.
