Woman Shot in the Face Outside Brooklyn Middle School

2009_09_ps189.jpg Just before the end of the day school bell at a Brownsville middle school yesterday, shots rang out in front of PS 189 when a woman driving by was shot in the face and nearly crashed into the school. The 24-year-old woman is in critical condition at Brookdale Hospital after being ambushed and shot six times by the shooter waiting for her outside the school around 2:30 p.m. Sparkle Jones, a woman who was near the intersection of E 96th Street and East New York Avenue to witness the shooting, told the News, "I heard shots, and the car hit the pole. The blood ran down her face."

The young woman was driving a green Honda Civic with Vermont plates. Police said she has no ties to the area and was not heading toward the school, but the Post claims that detectives told them the shooter knew the victim. Cops are still looking for the shooter after questioning locals inside barber shops on nearby Rutland Road, where they believed he was hiding.

Sad stuff, but nevertheless, shooter shot the victim 6 times, at least one shot to the face, and STILL doesn't kill her? Really hope this guy's not some kind of professional hitman.

the entire Browsville and East New York neighborhoods would be a great place for a nice park after every residence and project was dozed. Right now is just a daily free for all for criminal thugs.
