50 Cent to Picnic in Queens, Fest at Governors Island

50govisland.jpg 50 Cent doesn't even need to perform anymore, he's spent the summer in the headlines for canceling a Queens show when neighbors became concerned about safety. But now the NY Post reports that the rapper could possibly be attending a picnic in the borough tomorrow, at PS 40.

"Police sources said the performer is expected to make an appearance. But organizers of the 'Forever Young' festival said 50 Cent — who is financially backing the event — isn't expected to show." However, they do have a permit for a sound system. Interesting. Could a show go on in the neighborhood after all?

Meanwhile, 50 Fest is still on schedule to take place on October 3rd... at the somewhat unusual venue of the Beach on Governors Island. Picnics, Governors Island... is the rapper changing his image?

The mere sight of him at a picnic would be enough to make me lose my lunch.

Crime wave scheduled for Governor's Island on October 3.

I sense this is why we can't have nice things coming.
shame though.

Seriously. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

He showed up in Queens the day of the canceled show, walked around the neighborhood and nothing happened.
