From far-distant Appalachia, a story of a census worker in Clay County "found hanging on a tree and the word 'Fed' was written on his chest." In a startlingly apt bit of government idiocy, a spokesman for the FBI said they were still trying to determine "if there was foul play involved" or if his employment had something to do with his death.

Poor guy.
:(
It's the Confederacy rising again. Only this time we should LET THEM LEAVE. (Yes I know Kentucky was in the Union, but that was a long time ago.)
Does Glen Beck have an alibi?
We know he has no brains, no integrity, no memory how often he contradicts himself, no shame BUT he DOES have a motive.
That's good enough for me.
Grainy black and white newsreel footage or it didn't happen.
That's terrible. It seems like it was a nice community-oriented guy too who just got stuck in a bad area. That specific area is kind of a no man's land where any variety of drugs are run through and/or produced/grown in and where any sort of person with a federal association is eyed with suspicion and is automatically in a dangerous position. That's why they have trouble getting the original info reported in the first place...
I'm surprised he was allowed to go wandering there alone (I though census takers were supposed to be in pairs everywhere actually...)
Waiting for IdesOfMarch to come along and twist himself into a logical/moral pretzel to blame this on Obama and/or give an excuse to the people who did this.
at least they didn't make him squeal like a pig (and a banjo plays in the background)
LONG LIVE KENTUCKY !!!
This story is so poorly reported its not even funny. No mention of the fact that like 99.9% of the violent crime in Eastern Kentucky is drug related. I guess it would be too unrealistic to think this guy stumbled upon someone doing something illegal or someones crop and they kept him from saying anything about it...
I feel like this is actually the premise for an episode of Bones...
