I'd say we should pull the plug on pandas if it wasn't for the interest they generate in environmental conservation. In a year they have something like a 72 hour period to get pregnant and tens of millions of dollars put into their breeding.

The article has a point about the Pandas. We spend time and resources to save them because they are SO CUTE!!. But I wouldn't go as far as to 'pull the plug'. They have just as much as a right to exist as any other species and as its most likely our fault for their current dilemma, it makes sense to do our best to save them.
