Hipster Creep or Creepy? Greenpointers Living in Funeral Home

A Greenpoint couple living on Driggs Avenue near McCarren Park is attempting a novel approach at fighting off what they describe as "hipster creep." They're proudly publicizing their building's long history as the Dekarski Funeral Home from around 1900 until the mid-’70s.

Honey, wake up, I think I heard a scream coming from the attic.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i can't think of anything more hip than living in an ex funeral home.

Couldn't agree more. If you want no hispters, you should renovate it with a West Palm Beach/Beverly Hills kind of vibe, put in a baby's room, institute an 11pm curfew, and say that the place is perfect for anyone who has a job that involves physical labor and loves coming home to relax to some smooth jazz. And no bicycles in building.

This isn't really a new idea. Back in the late '80's I spent a summer rehearsing a show in the basement of an ex funeral home on 9th or 10th near A. The upstairs was an art gallery called XFH" (for ex funeral home).
