A Rutgers spokesman says the cereal never left the menu, but O'Keefe tells the Star-Ledger he was amazed that his Lucky Charms grievance wasn't immediately laughed out of the room, and the stunt proved to be a turning point for his, um, career? Yes, it does seem that he now has a career. One of his mentors, right-wing activist Morton Blackwell, explains that O'Keefe always "wanted to go out and catch leftists breaking the law." So he went on to enlist a cohort to pose as a 13-year-old girl and visit Planned Parenthood in California, where she told a counselor she was pregnant and the father was 31. The counselor was required by law to report what would have been rape to the police, but the girl was only told how to get an abortion. Now that's gotcha "journalism"!
But the ACORN videos have been O'Keefe's big break. Which sinister liberal will the young gadfly destroy next? Stay tuned, for he promises/threatens: "I'm still in my bunker producing more videos." In the meantime, here's the Daily Show's riff on the ACORN scandal, below:

Well with government and corporate corruption, grifting, poverty, illness, domestic violence, child and spousal abuse, drugs, guns, rape, murder, child pornography, fraud, theft, and pollution no longer an issue for human society, I am glad this upstanding young man is finally tackling the hard hitting issues!

honestly, i go more towards the right than not, but i just don't understand this "reporting." JDS used the phrase "smear job" about the ACORN videos a couple days ago. now you're calling them "antics." i think those words would be better applied to the unfunny jokes about things like lucky charms in a college cafeteria than the amateur, yet revealing videos that o'keefe made.
I think my use of "antics" is spot on: this guy dresses like a cartoon pimp and tricks people into saying dumb shit on camera. It's like if I asked you how you'd theoretically kill someone, then calling you a murderer and using that against you in court.

This is actually a pretty clear demonstration of the sociopathy of some right-wingers. This guy is literally fascinated and confused, to the point of amusement, by the fact that other people will actually empathize with him (rather than "laugh him out of the room") when he is pretending to be someone who is genuinely hurt by a racial stereotype.
Just think about that for a minute.
As for his next "project," it really can't be that surprising that some folks tried to help him and his "partner," since they were no doubt acting like people who genuinely needed help from people who genuinely want to provide it. Never mind that his "project" involves systematically lying to said people, and that they had to go to dozens of places before they got any takers.
Play Mad Libs: every time you used the word "right" substitute with "left," and "guy" with "Moore."

The state of Maryland requires "two-party consent" (you must get permission from everyone involved) when you record a phone call or conversation, so the undercover filming was illegal. The the same laws likely prohibit broadcasting the tapes as well.
