Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran isn't getting an Obama scoop any time soon! Yesterday, he prematurely Tweeted, "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential." Prematurely because it turns out the President's remarks were off-the-record and Moran deleted the Tweet (but it's still here). ABC News then told Politico: "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again." On the upside, Kanye probably thinks he was a jackass, too.

Why the eff is the President watching the Video Music Awards at a time like this???
As President, he needs to be kept in the loop of all newsworthy items relating to Pop Culture.
If he was asked about the incident during a press conference after the fact and was not aware of it at all, it would make him look like he was out of touch.
Yep, which is definitely part of the problem - when I see jackass reporters asking the President about the NBA draft, the VMA's, or some arrest in Boston, I always wonder if Bama thinks to himself "geesuz christ, this is why our country is in the crapper."
It's called the Internet bitch. I didn't watch the VMA's either but ten seconds after kanye went apeshit it was on the internets with links to youtube like a wildfire. the president doesn't watch anything in real time. He has a committee that watches everything relevant in political and social and cultural situations and they aggregrate that and metafilter it for him. then they either tell him what's what or give him a play by play a la jon stewart's daily show with little snippets. someone's never watched west wing.
Because he has daughters that are of the age where Taylor Swift is their idol.
Terry Moran's getting demoteddddddddddd
The word "tweeted" in a press release?
Jeeez.....

Ugh.
"Off the record"? More proof that the MSM just loves Obama and is abdicating their responsibilities.
When did any other President have a verbal slip off the record and not have it reported without apologies? Reagan, Clinton and Bush never had the kind of respectful treatment.
Don't embarrass yourself. There is an understanding within the press that if your subject declares something to be off the record or even discloses it after the interview has wrapped, the journalist should not disseminate it to the public. To think other Presidents never benefited from this is just silly.
How would you know? It was "off the record." Remember when the full Nixon tapes came out and everyone was amazed at all the profanity?
If you don't think previous Presidents had it A LOT better in terms of privacy and respect than the last 3 or 4 did, you're kidding yourself.
Barack Obama doesn't like black people!
ABC - All Barack Channel
Part of the SRM -state run media.
And the final question is why would barack hussein obama NOT want his comment on Kanye's (WTF kind of name is that?) made public?
Because what he meant was "Beyonce DID deserve the award over that cracker beatch, but Kanye needed to keep it real while I am suckering Amerika into becoming another South Africa!!"
Is a bigot with a little bit of wit and comedic timing that much to ask for?
