Yesterday morning, a five-hour standoff began when a 20-year-old kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and held her hostage in a Brighton Beach, Brooklyn building. It ended when police stormed the apartment's kitchen: The Daily News reports, "One officer used a Taser on Samuel White, 20, and another officer fired his gun when White lunged at Emergency Service Unit officers with the kitchen blade as they entered his Brighton Beach apartment around 5p.m." (It's unclear if White was hit.) White apparently managed to recover enough to stab one detective with a 12-inch knife, prompting cops to yell, "Put it down! Put it down!" before three officers firing at him five times, killing him. The 19-year-old ex-girlfriend had an order of protection against White, after he allegedly kidnapped her and raped her in August; yesterday, she did manage to escape the building. The NY Times says she climbed "through a window just as the police arrived. She told the police she had been raped." White's friends and sister do not think he was armed, telling the papers, "All I can say is an unarmed person was killed. It wasn’t necessary, it wasn’t right," and "This kid had no weapons. He was a good kid."

Again with the "he was a good kid", he kidnapped and rapped his ex g.f twice. Great Kid!
"...kidnapped and rapped..." An odd slip but very true to how I feel listening to that "music".
A knife wielding sociopath rapist was shot and killed. Such a pity for society. I suppose to his family, a knife isn't really a weapon, it's a punctuation mark.
The problem with certain people, the ones who apparently need killing, is that they do not know how to obey. When a cop says "drop it", that is not a suggestion.
I don't know about you but I'm tired of this "he was a good kid" crapola. White's friend and girlfriend are surely delusional. As far as I see it, "good kids" do not require protection agreements, do not take hostages and do not threaten cops with knives.
How can this be the same story over and over with bizarre and violent situations like this? If they're all "good kids" maybe I'm the one that's deluded . . .
Is it because its overused or because some people really are mild mannered and fairly innocuous before they suddenly go ballistic and rape and threaten to kill someone?
It happens you know.
Oh and also, I'm almost positive most nutjobs are nice enough to dupe their mothers.

Ok you ignorant people lets get this story straight..
Samuel White was a "good kid." He was intelligent, well spoken and motivated. He was going to school while working and would never have done what the news is making it out to be. Read the daily news today Anastasia is crying to them now and saying she misses him and denies he ever raped her. I know both of them personally and anyone who knows of them and their relationship know exactly what happened. Anastasia was obsessed and controlling. The police needed to have checked their records this isn't the first time that she had claimed to be kidnapped, in August she had gotten him arrested when he was not even with her I know he didnt kidnap her and if the police check their records it will will say that she was there 15 minutes later bailing him out. Anastasia got a court order of protection against him yet openly claims they were still in a relationship. When she had place the court order of protection he would be hanging out with us and it was non stop calls or im's from this girl. This was another stunt to control him except she let it go too far this time that's all. An innocent person was killed. He was on the phone with friends and family members he said he was unarmed and he didnt even know where she was. The cops supposedly found her waiting on the roof.. trust me if it was there they found her that is exactly where she started. Samuel was trying to better himself and keep out of trouble she let this get out of hand and now feels guilty. The cops are just covering their asses, she was never raped and never touched. They said they tazed him and then needed to shoot him.. the weapon they charged him with was a kitchen knife when intially they said he had a gun and yet found nothing. Trust me I'm 5'3 and sam was about my size to take him down four cops could have easily have done it without shooting him in the head. They didn't seem to point out any of these things in the news. Come on people get your asses out of your head and the facts straight.. We all knew Sam don't believe everything you hear or read. Hopefully you will never have to be in a situation where one of your loved ones is being made out to be someone they weren't because you would then know how painful it is knowing the truth and how easily all of this could have been avoided. We will never forget you Sam, and as for you Anastasia I hope god has mercy on you.
