Ugh: The Post reports that a "tech-savvy skirt-chaser fitted his boots with cameras and victimized women as they walked through Union Square Park, cops said yesterday... He was carrying a viewer, which was connected by wires through his pockets to tiny cameras lodged in the tongues of his boots, cops said." Eric Pierson was charged with unlawful surveillance last week and found with "recordings showing the legs and underwear of another eight victims." Speaking of, doesn't the iPod Nano with video capability seem like it might encourage this kind of behavior?

was that wrong? should i not have done that?
This story needs more photos.
(i kid, i kid)
relax, he was only hunting for furbies.
and they say nobody cares about the craft of being a pervert anymore.
Summer's last hurrah.
He only got 8? Pathetic. I victimized at least 12 girls when I stood waiting for the L train by the stairs that come from the N,Q,R,W platform. There's no video evidence, though, just memories.
That was you!!
Seriously, I once saw this guy who kept seeming to collapse on the stairs at Bway and Lafayetter. I was going to ask him if he needed help, but it turned out he was looking up women's skirts.
I really could have used your help, actually, I twisted my ankle pretty good. Seeing up ladies' skirts was just an unintended consequence.
is that illegal? i thought you were allowed to film anyone in public?
so it's only bad if you think about it *sexually*:
http://www.courts.state.ny.us/cji/2-PenalLaw/250/250.45-2.pdf
i guess it's just another thought crime law.
Wrong section of the law. In fact it has nothing to do with what you're thinking, only that you are doing the filming intentionally:
Under Penal Law Section 250.45(4)
A person is guilty of unlawful surveillance in the second degree when:
Without the knowledge or consent of a person, he or she intentionally uses or installs, or permits the utilization or installation of an imaging device to surreptitiously view, broadcast or record, under the clothing being worn by such person, the sexual or other intimate parts of such person.
So if you're shooting normally and happen to get such a shot accidentally, it's not illegal. If you attach cameras to your shoes, your intent is pretty clear.
Genius! We used to tape mirrors to our shoes in school. It was incredibly obvious but the girls didn't mind ;)
Catholic school girl rule: beware the patent leather shoe ;D
"Speaking of, doesn't the iPod Nano with video capability seem like it might encourage this kind of behavior?"
yeah, let's ban all video cameras, mirrors, etc...
Or better yet, let's ban mini skirts... burkhas for everybody...
he was just hanging around doing it?
and here I was thinking guys just try and look up your skirt when you're going up the subway stairs.
I usually scurry up the stairs when I'm wearing a sundress or any skirt. not sure it helps though.
He's better off just standing in front of the steps like these guys.

...as a photographer of nyc, documenting its people and environment artistically and esthetically, for the past 30 years this particular case is harassment-morally and ethically repellent(not to mention illegal)...and for #10 valeriob, obviously you feel its your right as a male chauvinist pig to harass any female slave you choose (and of course "the girls didn't mind")...
Wasn't me.
smh..amateurs..
Dov Charney hangs out in Union Square?
