Vigil Held for Beaten Pratt Student

090409vigil.jpg That 22-year-old Pratt architecture student who was savagely beaten during a mugging in Clinton Hill on August 4th is in the early stages of recovery after coming out of a coma. To observe the one month mark, community members, students, and Pratt faculty held a candlelight vigil last night at the site of the attack at Grand and Lexington Avenues, where Eduardo Sanchez was violently robbed by four or more teens. It's being reported that Sanchez, who was beaten with a crowbar, is showing signs of recovery, and is now breathing on his own. His mother tells The Local, "One day at a time he is getting better. The medical and living expenses, I haven’t even thought about." On August 12th, police arrested 16-year-old Eugene Adams, but have not made any further arrests in the case. Also attending last night's vigil was City Councilwoman Letitia James, who told NY1 she thinks the attack was an isolated incident, but reminded New Yorkers to be aware of their surroundings and avoid flashing expensive iPods and cell phones on the street.

Thanks Letitia for that message of hope... go fuck yourself. Get well soon Eduardo.

She is a complete moron.

I wonder what they are going to do to the Thugs ??

yeah 'isolated' like the one who was beaten the other month. And the month before that. And the constant shootings and robberies. too bad we can't isolate those people from the rest of civilization.

They already are isolated. Its called the ghetto and its called The PJ's. Used to be, nobody except the residents and the police went near those places, but now this is not the case anymore.

Sad story, I hope that kid recovers fully.

so what about the google guy hit in the head in central park? i suspect he's faring worse since there hasn't been any updates whatsoever?

its a world with finite resources, shot the thugs. saves time and money.

time to start a neighborhood watch group,
no one uses the CB band anymore. and you can poke them in the eye with that long antenna.

You can bet that if James were beaten to within an inch of her life with a crowbar it wouldn't be an "isolated incident".

Isolated....
As in those little thugs only managed to cover one block that night???

I think they need an Amadaou-style plunging with their mother's watching, so they can scream out "...but they were such good boys..." while the NYPost reporter laughs and thinks of a good headline for the next day,

Letitia James doesn't give a shit because he's white.

I hope Eduardo Sanchez makes a full recovery & these gorillas get what they deserve in adult prisons for what they did to him.
