My best friend and her husband are vegan. When they got married it was sorbet. Love them both dearly, but that was about as festive as cardboard.

I am so sick and tired of these pedantic neo-hippies. Horses, oxen, mules, dogs, elephants, camels are all used for human travel—this isn't a recent use either, it's been around for millenia.

They're not beaten in fact, the majority are like pets and cared for lovingly. When will these self-absorbed neo-hippies go back to living in their caves, away from society where their carbon footprint is in all likelyhood larger than most.

Side note-

Organic this organic that... Wake up people and do some research—organic food isn't all that good for you. In fact, conventional farming with organic mixed in is much better. It's all about nutritional value and how long it can last without rotting. If an organic apple rots faster than a conventional apple, in all likelyhood, the organic apple has less nutritional value rendering it basically worthless.

Back to the animals-

It is the saddest sight to see those poor horses in traffic pulling carriages around all day, every day. That is sad sad life.

Please put things in perspective. These are WORKING animals and would be doing nothing if they didn't have a job. You are looking at it from your point of view and not the animals. These horses are happier doing romantic walks in the nature. They need to have a purpose to feel complete.
