Last night, two men were shot dead in Brooklyn's Sunset Park. The Daily News reports, "The two unidentified victims were gunned down about 8:30 p.m. in Sunset Park - and the shooter scampered off, police and a witness said." The 28-year-old victim was shot in the face while the 22-year-old victim was shot in the neck and torso. While it's unclear why the men were shot, a police source told the News, "It looks like it is gang-related. He shot them both and took off." And a witness said that there were about 20 people at a nearby basketball court at the time—those people fled when the shooting broke out. Update: A reader tells us he was moving his car around 9 a.m. this morning when he saw cops "poking around in the bushes looking for a gun"—the cops were overheard saying things like "We better find this gun," and "Where did he toss this thing?"

This is a tragedy... Any description of the scampering shooter?
Perhaps it is related to the animal sacrifices in Prospect Park story?

This stuff was going on in Yonkers during the Son of Sam killing spree.
Scampered off? Anyone know of Templeton the Rat's whereabouts?
That park is right across the street from an elementary school, is always filled with families and children, and it's one of the busiest parks I've been to in the city. Thank goodness some little kid wasn't hit by a stray bullet.
This happens all the time in other parts of Brooklyn.
The fact that it happened in Sunset Park makes it newsworthy?
"This is a tragedy... Any description of the scampering shooter? "
I was there. It happened about 30-50 feet from me. And I dialed 911 within about 10 seconds.
The victims and people who ran from them were all hispanic looking 20 somethings. It was hard to take everything in precisely, but I'm pretty sure I saw at least 3 guys running away and heard only 2 shots. I wasn't even (100%) sure the victims were dead till I got a call from the detective later on that night regarding the homicide I reported.
There was no warning or loud words between the two parties. Just CRACK CRACK and everyone in the vicintiy is getting the hell out of dodge. I managed to stay for a bit but once the cops got there and I pointed them in the right direction, I bailed.
