Yesterday, Governor Paterson joked that his new beard-less look was due to more state budget cutbacks. But it turns out his 15-year-old son asked him to get rid of the beard. The Daily News went to AskMen.com's editor in chief James Bassil for his analysis: "Bassil said mustaches made something of a comeback among urban 'hipsters' this spring, but the trend never went mainstream and is already starting to die out. 'If you see an older guy wearing a mustache, it's usually either out of force of habit - they've had it forever - or it's a midlife crisis,' Bassil said."

disgustache.
Did he shave himself? It's a little lopsided.
This should distract the voters from his appalling performance as governor for at least 3 seconds.
Or maybe some men at any age just like
having a mustache?
Amazing a grown up male can say it's a fashion
statement that never caught on.
Since when the 1st century?
Or that he doesn't know any better because he can't see his stache?
No New York State governor with a beard has been elected since Charles Evans Hughes in 1906

NJ Governor Corzine is the only elected governor with a beard currently in office. It's just not in fashion for politicians to have beards anymore.
Sporting a dirty sanchez is very appropriate for Albany.
