A Bronx dad had to literally stomp a Husky off his toddler son as the boy was being brutally attacked by the dog more than twice his size while the pooch's owner idly watched nearby. 32-year-old Jeremiah Kendall tells the Daily News how he briefly took his eyes off of his 3-year-old son Kamrin Thursday night around 9 while in front of their Hunts Point home, only to turn around and see the 120-pound unleashed white Husky on him. He says, "My son's face was full of blood. I saw cuts on his eyes, face and nose." The older Kendall had to jump in, kicking the dog and even punching it in the face to get it off of his son. Animal control ended up putting the dog down, while its owner, 23-year-old Louis Delez, is facing charges for reckless endangerment. The News has a heartbreaking photo of young Kamrin as he recovers at Lincoln Hospital. Mr. Kendall did not sound too thrilled with Delez, telling the paper, "He was closer to the dog than me. I'm upset he didn't do anything."

Lucky for the owner the father's immediate 110% concern was the baby.
plus dammit that is a very cute kid.
Isn't he???! Damn, he's so cute.
"He was closer to the dog than me. I'm upset he didn't do anything."
Of course he didn't. That dog was his baby. Or an extension of his masculinity. That's why it was out swinging wild and free. How dare you kick his masculinity?
Comment of the day.
The dog owner should have been put down too.
The poor baby! He is darling.
For what it's worth, almost all 3 year olds are in bed by 9pm. It has something to do with good parenting.
I know few commenters here have children so most of them probably have no clue about those things.
"For what it's worth"
What, exactly, do you believe it is worth? Are you trying to insinuate that because he didn't put his child to bed when you think he should that he is a bad parent? Or, perhaps, that any 3 year old on the street with their parents at 9pm deserves to be mauled by a dog?
Do you really believe it's the father's fault in any way?
You're an idiot. Read my comment again. In no way was I *insinuating* "that any 3 year old on the street with their parents at 9pm deserves to be mauled by a dog."
But it was Hunts Point and it was dark at 9pm. So with those facts in mind, a responsible father would have kept a closer eye on his 3 year old. And, yeah, the dog owner should have had his dog leashed at the very least.
This was some unpredictable random accident.
Irrelevant and wrong-headed comment. You know, as long as the child gets sufficient number of hours of sleep, it doesn't matter that he was outside at 9. Perhaps staying up late in the evening keeps him from waking up at 6am; perhaps the father wanted some time with the child-- we can't know, assume or judge why a child is not in bed at 9. That is not late; 12pm is late. I feel sorry for your children, if you have any. They must think you're a killjoy. If you don't have any, I repeat my first sentence.
12am, not pm.
Well it should be obvious that the 3 year old wasn't being closely supervised. It was dark (9pm) and the child is only 3 years old for chrissakes. It is clear that the father loves his child, but his parenting skills need to be improved. And as I said before, almost all 3 year olds are in bed way before 9pm and there is a good reason for that. This is not an 8 year old we are talking about, but a 3 year old.
And as for my being a killjoy, haven't you ever heard of discipline and structure in a very young child's life? Look around you and you'll see what happens to people who have never learned self-discipline.
You are also a hypocrite based on your previous comment stating that if the unwed teenage mother "controlled herself" she presumably would not have gotten pregnant. So when do you think self-control starts? At some magic age? Children need to be taught such things beginning when they are toddlers.
You really don't know the details of the circumstances, so perhaps you shouldn't be so judgmental. Jumping to conclusions makes you sound like a jerk. Just saying.
As beautiful as huskies are people forget that the larger variety are half wolf. A baby looks like prey, and an animal with a wild tendencies will go in for the kill.
You gotta admit that's the smile of a future pimp....
Classy!

If these guys were around this would of never happened
How long 'til felixthecat2 blames the toddler for looking so tasty?
People should be given a psyche test before they're allowed to have either children or pets.
Dog owner shld be put down.
