15-Year-Old Father-to-be Fatally Shot Leaving East NY Party

A teenager in Brooklyn was gunned down while walking home from a party just after midnight last night. 15-year-old Craig Shelton was preparing to be a sophomore at Metropolitan High School and recently learned he was expecting his first child with 17-year-old girlfriend Tania Moore. Friends say Shelton was not feeling well when he left the East New York party around midnight and was shot multiple times across the street on Euclid Avenue. Shelton was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting; police did not offer any motive or say that they had any suspects. His grandmother said, "He was a good boy. He never got into any trouble." And the four-months pregnant Moore told the News, "I don't know what I'll ever say when the time comes, when our baby asks where their daddy is."

Friends say Shelton was not feeling well...

Looks like a case of high-impact lead poisoning.

I was going to say something similar. Like getting shot interferes with wellness.

Dear Tania, Do the right thing. It's discreet and affordable.

No: 1) She's too far along; 2) She should have controlled herself, for one never knows what they'll end up with: could've been triplets, or a baby with a disability she couldn't handle, or an absent father -- maybe her friends will see it's better to wait to better the odds.

Can you bring your baby to prom? Just askin'...

  • An absolute tragic loss of a young life. However, statistically speaking he wouldn't have been there for his child anyway. Pregnancy at that age usually results in doom or poverty unless the parents are wealthy and/or politically connected.

The famous quote from family.. ""He was a good boy. He never got into any trouble."

Good parting means this boy has a curfew and will not be on he streets at midnight. Where was his parents? They should have picked up him.

How classy. 15 and getting a girl knocked up.

His grandmother said, "He was a good boy. He never got into any trouble."
Getting a girl pregnant at the age of 15 doesn't count as trouble?

  • militza

nah, just proves his boys can swim.

The News reports that the grandmother is 55 years old. So that means she is going to be a 55 or 56 year old great grandmother. So now this unborn baby is going to grow up without a father because he has been killed, oh wait, the baby was going to grow up without a father anyway.
