Yesterday morning, an 8-year-old fell out of a 7th floor apartment window at the Castle Hill Houses in the Bronx—and survived. The Daily News reports that Destiny Antonio "somehow tumbled out the window in the bedroom she shares with some of her 11 siblings," landing on a hill. "The little girl underwent hours of surgery Thursday at Jacobi Medical Center," after suffering "a broken hip, shattered pelvis, broken leg and trauma to her intestines and liver." She is in critical condition. The window did have a guard, but apparently the upper portion of the window—above the guard—"opened more than the maximum allowed 4½ inches," according to family friend Paul Miller who spoke to the Post. Miller said that Destiny's mother told him, "I can't believe this, that it was the same f---ing window that I told them to fix." The NYC Housing Authority did not comment, and the NYPD is investigating the incident.

I hope this poor little girl pulls through, but I can't help but think there is so much suspicious shit in this story.
1.) She's 8. Usually kids who accidentally fall out of windows are much younger - this is especially suspicious since they said she "might have" squeezed out the top of the window. Why?
2.) She fell out of the window at 1:30 in the morning. What was she doing up so late?
3.) 11 goddamn kids!? I can't help but wonder if child services should check this household out. At least 12 people crammed into an apartment doesn't seem conducive to a healthy home.
I hope I'm wrong and that my suspicions are unjustified, but this just seems too weird.
Uh, goodgolly, you obvi dont live in the hood! kids are up until 2am on weeknights in the hood. My neighbors across the street sit out on the stoop making mischief until all hours, sometimes WITH momma!
But you are right that child services should probably check it out. An 8 year old has the sense enough not to "fall out of a window".
"I can't believe this, that it was the same f---ing window that I told them to fix."
Yeah, right!!! Have you done so already or should I call Sharpton for you to instigate the lawsuit and TV coverage?
I'd believe she was up to 2am, but I don't believe for a second she fell out the window. More likely one of her siblings pushed/tossed her out.
11 siblings!!??? As they say keep having more children to get more money out of the government.
see, I don't understand that... for every kid there is more money, but it costs money to raise a kid. It can't be that much can it?
The uterus is not a clown car!
