To make matters worse the 5 volunteers were AAers trying to go straight.

"Former Homeland Security Chief Tom Ridge admits in his new memoir that he "was pushed to raise the security alert on the eve of President Bush's re-election, something he saw as politically motivated and worth resigning over."

Republican Apologists on Gothamists take note.
This is whom you vote for.

"admits in his new memoir that he "was pushed to raise the security alert on the eve of President Bush's re-election"

How is that an admission? He's saying that someone else did something wrong, but he stood up for what was right.

Sounds more like an accusation (one that I believe, to be sure), so "claims" would probably be a better word.

Ridge didn't stand up for what was right. If he had he would have refused to raise the security alert and tendered his resignation. Instead he did what he knew was wrong and only admitted doing so a) after the administration was out of power, and b) in order to make a buck. Ridge is a money-grubbing, cowardly scumbag.

I like the picture of the girl singing on the steps. Pray tell is she rehearsing the alma mater song for Stuyvesant High School?

Oh thank god the Yankees are going to give Joba the Hut the rest he so rightfully deserves...

What's the significance of the fact that the guys who were ripping off parking meters were using metal keys? Do they make plastic parking meter keys?
