What a waste of water. Your water bill is paying for it.

This ain't nothing. At least the one in the picture has a sprinkler cap on. Once you hit the hinterland above 98th St. they let it loose without any caps full blast. You haven't seen waste till you go up there.

"Your water bill is paying for it."

How's that? There's no water meter on hydrants, and as long as the reservoirs aren't running empty (which they certainly are not) it's not causing any problem or costing anyone anything. There's plenty of capacity in the system to handle a few open hydrants.

"Would you pay $2,350 for a 1 bedroom rental in a new Fort Greene building, recently converted to rentals because condos weren't really selling?"

Absolutely not.

You can get a nice 1 bedroom in a dozen nicer/more convenient 'hoods for that price.

shit, how much would the mortgage be?!?

Rule of thumb: a real estate asset's real value gets determined by the third owner. New builds cost too much and this developer got screwed by the market. Nice building in a crappy nabe, it needs to change hands a few times.

At least it has an actual spray cap on it. Looks like it's turned up full blast though and nobody's there.

"Former governor Mario Cuomo said about his son potentially running for governor, "If he runs for governor, I want to see him."

Either Mario is becoming grammatically forgetful or the Gothamist editors are missing again.

John Ensign is a man of integrity. Everybody at C Street says so.
