Knicks' Nate Robinson Arrested, Copes Through Twitter

Nate Robinson hasn't been able to get signed in New York since becoming a free agent this off-season, but Tuesday he was able to get booked up in The Bronx, charged with driving with a suspended license. Cops say they pulled Robinson over for not having his seat belt on while driving down the Grand Concourse in Bedford Park, but the Knicks' two-time dunk contest champion tweeted, "Cops pulled me over cuz my windows were 2 dark (but my windows were down) lol how funny is that." Doesn't an NBA star get tinted windows specifically for 95 degree days driving down the Grand Concourse? In any case, cops discovered that Robinson's license had been suspended in June for the fifth time after a series of infractions around the area including traffic violations, speeding, driving without his seat belt on and for driving while talking on a cell phone.

In the process of bring booked, someone must have told Robinson that his Twitter play-by-play might be kryptonite for his contract chances. Tweets such as "Iam still pulled over and its been 35 min they have me sit in my truck like I dnt have s#*+2 do lol," were deleted and replaced with ones such as "To All My Tweeps: I was irresponsible earlier when I tweeted about being pulled over," and "I also want to thank the NYPD especially the arresting officer. He was fair and helped process me quickly."

Since becoming a restricted free agent in July, Robinson has not had much luck finding more than a one-year offer from the Knicks. There has even been speculation that he and the team's other free agent, forward David Lee, could end up signing in European leagues next season.

When he was pulled over yesterday, Robinson was riding with newly drafted New Jersey Net Terrence Williams. Williams had been tweeting away his day prior to the pair making their way to the 52nd Precinct. Robinson has continued to update his thoughts on the situation, with tweets such as the most recent: "To all my fan's I wanna personally thank u guys, 4 stand n by my side mean a hell of a lot 2 me, tough time never last tough tweepoeples do."

Oh, just wait, tweeting is only warming up.

A riveting story starring an uneducated, badly tattooed, oompa loompa that has the uncanny ability to slam a ball through a rim.

I really like Nate Robinson. I think he's got good spirit and is a fun player to watch.

I hate twitter English. Hate it.

"Robinson also ran over several orphaned children and the Sisters of Mercy who were tending them, but cops ruled it an accident and declined to press charges."

His agent was probably irate when he saw his twitter. Oh man.

Since his career was already hanging by a thread, yeah, probably. Even a team as pathetic as the Knicks has refused to sign him to a new deal, only making a one-year qualifying offer to keep him tied up til they decide whether they'll need him at all, while pursuing point guards in a clear attempt to not need him.

This incident, and especially his reaction showing more evidence that he's an immature loose cannon, probably takes away any chance he'll go anywhere else; he'll probably now have to accept that qualifying offer. That'll mean he'll have to play for a paltry $2.9 million, poor guy.

When you become a rapper or professional athlete is your driver license automatically suspended? Just asking.
