The raccoon now known as Houdini—after escaping the cage his captors put him in yesterday—may have ended up being caught again, but the good news is he's still alive. The NY Post reports that the animal, who infiltrated City Hall, shows no signs of disease and "is scheduled to be released in a wooded area somewhere in the five boroughs." Phew! Mike Pastore of Animal Care & Control told NY1, "We get an animal like this, we're concerned for the public health aspect of it. We don't want somebody to encounter a raccoon coming across, so I'm glad that we were able to get him out the area." And just look how cute this 25-lb guy is! Guess all raccoons aren't foaming at the mouth.

This is just a waste of time and tax payers money to show that they care about some stupid animal that creates a nuisance for us all. It's not like that animal can ever pay the money back that he wasted. What a joke.

Will you repaid the money you defrauded the STATE, MTA and the TAXPAYERS with your workercomp FRAUD????

  • Dead Himmler

I am not defrauding anyone. I have an INJURY. When your finger is hurt it is almost impossible to use a computer consistently which I would need to do because I am a SUPERVISOR. So please go away.

  • felixthecat2

Aren't you on the computer right now and also working a side business and your own comment stated that your supervisor know about it and he approves it since they all do it. I send your comment to the STATE and I hope they do catch you soon

Yeah, and anyway, your employer is the stupid one for hiring a guy with 1 finger.

  • felixthecat2

yeah, the media saved his life since they usually drown them. I am happy for him.

  • Even though he rummages through garbage and could harbor deadly diseases, that raccoon has star power!

  • yytttt

You're right, but his rumoured affair with a squirrel staffer, if proven true, may be the end of his political carreer.

  • schadenfreudian mensch

Only if he blabs it on his facebook page and mention how Odumb-a f'ed up with how stupid cops are.

  • yytttt

That's not Houdini... that's Pedro G. Espada, son of Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada Jr working as the deputy director of intergovernmental relations for the City Council, a position he was appointed to after resigning from a similar position at the State Senate.

It's the eye mask that gave it away isn't it.
