Police Still Searching For Bronx Boy's Shooter

2009_08_hopw.jpg Just after midnight yesterday, a 10-year-old boy was caught in a drive-by shooting in the Bronx. The boy suffered a bullet wound in the foot; according to NY1, "Police say the boy's father had sent him and a friend to pick up food at a Chinese restaurant on Monroe Avenue in Mount Hope... The boys were in front of the restaurant when a car pulled up and someone started shooting at a group of people standing outside the restaurant." A neighbor who heard the gunfire told the Daily News, "My son would have to be in the house before the sun goes down." The boy is in stable condition; police are asking that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers by either calling 800-577-TIPS, texting CRIMES (then enter TIP577), or going to the Crime Stoppers website.

There are just too many guns. An unlicensed gun arrest should carry mandatory jail time.

Anyone else have a 10 year old they would send out to pick up Chinese food at 1 in the morning?

Seriously, what was this negligent father too busy doing that he had to go send his son/errand-boy to do his bidding?

Yeah that's pretty fucked up honestly. After midnight for Chinese food? A couple of 10 year olds? Huh??!

Parenting is fucked up in the hood.
