Michael Vick might get thrown into the lion's den for his return to NFL action—speculation is that his first snaps back might come at Giants Stadium when the Eagles take on the Jets in the final preseason game of the season. Last night WCBS 2 asked Jet fans there to see Mark Sanchez's debut last night what their thoughts were on Vick's landing in Philly. Reaction was mixed with one fan saying, "I think what he did is completely heinous, but you can't crucify someone forever," while most took the predictable route of "Glad he's with the Eagles. I hate the Eagles!" As for Vick's new division rivals, the Giant defenders seemed to welcome the added competition of facing the speedy QB. Justin Tuck said "hats off to (the Eagles)" and Osi Umenyiora even said he was "proud of that franchise" for having the "cojones" to sign the tarnished superstar. Vick was on the field for the first time today practicing with the Eagles, who may utilize him in the "Wildcat" formation. Coincidentally Big Blue spent yesterday practicing their defense against the Wildcat.

Regardless of which side your on everyone has to agree that watching Vick play in the wildcat formation will be pretty exciting this year.
What bothers me is that someone like Vick when he was running his dogfights didn't see anything wrong with what he was doing. This just strikes me as a major lapse of the moral sense. Is it in the same league with Bush's or Cheeney's moral lapses while in office
If Vick had made a "mistake" and paid his dues, I would applaud his second chance to make a living with NFL. Unfortunately, he did not make a mistake. He did exactly what he wanted to do, not because he needed money, but because he thought it was perfectly okay to do it. Anyone who hangs dogs that don't fight well instead of selling them, or God forbid, even shooting them, has a serious problem. Now he has a publicist telling him what to say to make it all go away. I'm sorry, but he's a soulless man and NFL is essentially telling him it's okay, we forgive you.
I don't begrudge Vick's right to make a living but don't let him have his lifestyle back. It sends the wrong message. He will do it all again if he can.
I guess the NFL is like any other corporation, if someone makes the big bucks for them, they will forgive & forget. These "people" make me sick. Maybe we should do to Vick what he did to them & see how it feels. That is why I will pick a dog over a man any day of the fuckin' week !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
