Now that Sheryl Weinstein, former CFO of Jewish organization Hadassah, has gone and written a book about her supposed affair with Ponzi schemer/current jailbird Bernard Madoff, the NY Times asked Ruth Madoff's lawyer for comment. Peter Chavkin obliged and said his client, who has been married to Madoff for decades, knew nothing of the "alleged affair," and noted "[the allegation] stands as a powerful reminder, to those who say Ruth must have known of her husband’s criminal scheme, that there are some things that some spouses — however close they are — do not share with each other." The Times also wonders about the ethics issues, given Weinstein's role as CFO for Hadassah—investing its money with Madoff—her supposed relationship with him and her decision to invest all her family's money with Madoff. Weinstein said at a court hearing earlier this year, "Four years ago we refinanced our mortgage and gave the excess cash to Bernie Madoff"—so they are now homeless—and emphasized she was testifying because she "felt it was important for somebody who was personally acquainted with Madoff to speak. My family and I are not anonymous people to him. He knows my husband’s name is Rob and my son’s name is Eric."

Sheryl Weinstein: I fucked another woman's husband, took out a huge mortgage against my house, and invested my very large amount of excess money in a very large investment organization along with the money of a company I was helping to run (run by the other woman's husband I was fucking no less) who then proceeded to steal it away from me.
Someone's gonna have to explain to me why we should not hate her too.
So from vat hate are you talking? She was a victim. I feel so sorry that she and her beloved zionist organization got jewed by her lover.
She had a responsibility to the organization and her family that trusted her to make good financial decisions. And failed at every level for the stupidest of reasons.
Perhaps our country wouldn't be in the shit situation that it is now if the financial "experts" knew what they were doing. They are gamblers plain and simple. I would rather go to Atlantic city and put all my money on black or red than give dollar one to these thieves. At least I wouldn't have to pay points to an investment adviser. Win or lose.

Common sense tells you not to invest all the millions of non-profit dollars you are responsible for and your family's money with someone you're sleeping with.
