  • From the Gothamist Newsmap: an unstable building at Bowery and Hester Sts in Manhattan, a carjacking at 147th Ave in Queens and a floater on the Hudson River at 158th St in Manhattan.
  • A malnourished alligator (or caiman) and turtle were taken from a West Babylon home. The owner faces charges for animal cruelty plus illegally harboring the alligator.
  • A roofer was electrocuted today after an aluminum ladder leaning against a home in College Point came in contact with a wire.
  • A mother is suing the NYS Dept. of Corrections for $130M after her son was beaten to death at Riker's Island. Correction officers are accused of allowing "The Program," where they allegedly deputized inmates as enforcers.
  • Fancy that: A program that gives cash to students for passing AP test scores has found that more students are passing the tests.
  • Could Senator Charles Schumer have a shot at being majority leader of the Senate? If it's based on the number of Sunday media appearances, than he's a lock!
  • Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin was reportedly at NYC (liberal) media hangout Michael's last night, which Daily Intel says is like "Bill O'Reilly having dinner in Provincetown."
  • Russian Prime Minister/gay icon Vladimir Putin just cannot get enough shirts-off time when cameras are around.
  • Seth Meyers says that there's always room for Justin Timberlake on SNL, maybe even as a cast member. Meyers said, "If Justin Timberlake was so stupid and hated money so much that he would work for us permanently, we would love to have him. But he would really have to hate money."
  • And National Ice Cream Month may have just come to a close, but word of a donut ice cream sandwich at Peter Pan's in Greenpoint has given us a whole new lease on the sweet life.

I tell you Sarah Palin is moving to Big Town with Levi Johnston, dumping Todd and leaving him in the cold with the kids. She will soon be appearing as the weather person on Channel 9 and as the Bullpen Catcher for the Cyclones.

I just love recycling don't you?

Those guys are gonna get so many fuckin' nickels.

Wonder what that kid did to get to Riker's and to be targeted for 'enforcement'?

Bet all that money his mother wants won't change a thing except raise taxes for the rest of us.
