Summertime really sets the stage for street fights, and BushwickBK points us to one they say recently took place between two men in their 60s (though they look younger to us). The weapon of choice: aluminum rods.
They note, "One man, clearly inebriated, knocks the other over behind a car and wails on him before dropping the pole and walking away. The crowds yelled homophobic abuse at him, but backed up as he came close to them. He crossed the street in front of a moving vehicle, and then as he began frantically trying to open my trash-area fence, his face covered in blood, I stop filming to tell him to get away from my house. He opened the gates, grabbed two wine bottles from the recycle bin, and stomped down the street in the direction the other man had retreated." Since the NYPD were called as the fight was in progress, the two men were both picked up shortly after.

Why did Gothamist waste our time with that crap? The blogger, Jeremy, is so lame, when a white car pulls up, he thinks its 'undercover'. Duh, UC officers wouldn't give a shit about a street fight because it would blow their ID.
Which newbie transplant to Brooklyn is lamer for posting this: Jeremy or Jen?

He thought it was a detective, but he doesn't know the difference.
NannyState
Lamest. Streetfight. Ever.

The guy who runs that blog, Jeremy Sapienza, is an idiot.
His blog is dumb and boring, he grew up in miami and almost never knows what he's talking about.
Some of his more recent blog posts include:
-Filming this complete nothingness of a fight
-Trying to persuade his readers than a condo on wilson ave. is good for the neighborhood
-Implying that there is no internal crime in Bushwick, and that everything that happens is from outsiders: "(though I’m sure they live in the Bronx like all the other scumbags that prey on us.)" He's referring to the Jose Sucuzhany murder last December
-Chastising some other blogger for daring to suggest that Sheepshead Bay might be a better place to live that Bushwick (Jeremy is one of these people that refuses to admit Bushwick is still a ghetto area with lots of problems that go along with being a ghetto)
Wza
Yep, this is true.
Think2wice
I concur, Bushwick is overhyped.
Global Wombat
Hah. Does he even describe his neighborhood as being Bushwick? Or does he call it East Williamsburg?
emilydickinson
That's not much of a brawl for Bushwick.
yetanotherdamneduselessaccount
What the fuck is "homophobic abuse"?
Language is dead.
CR
Is that a curtain-rod?
