The MTA offered its plan for repairing the Throgs Neck Bridge, the Queens-Bronx crossing that was damaged by a three-alarm fire the other week. You can read the plan here; MTA Brides & Tunnels president Susan Kupferman said, "We certainly understand the public's frustration. Our goals continue to be to reduce traffic impact and move forward with the repair plan." The fire was started by a construction worker's blow torch and the MTA says that the NJ contractor EE Cruz has accepted responsibility for the damages and repair work. EE Cruz had subcontracted the steel work to a Bronx company, Imperial Iron Works, whose crew was on the bridge during the fire. Newsday reports, "The crew that was torching steel when the fire broke out has been prohibited from working on the bridge...However, E.E. Cruz and Imperial have been retained for the continuing work, officials said."

MTA contracts EE Cruz who then contracts Imperial Iron Works. now that's what i call quality control. job well done guys.
This is a common practice. EE Cruz is the general contractor, who is responsible for coordinating the entire job, and Imperial is the subcontractor who is hired to execute that portion of the contractor. Not all general contractors have in-house subcontractors for every trade and often subcontract portions of the work to specialized companies.
That's not how trolling works. You have to stop using your brain. Common misconception.
So which MTA board member's relative owns the contracting company?
That's why we pay 100 dollars plus an hour per worker, but the worker gets paid 20 or 30.
The Throgs Neck has not been that much Bronx or Queens bound. The Whitestone Bronx bound has been a total disaster all day long, since all the trucks are going there.

Obviously those clowns working on the bridge are amateurs. The MTA should hire experinced bridge contractors.
