Poll: NYers Hated Senate Stalemate

2009_06_noped.jpg A new poll from the Siena Research Institute reveals the unsurprising news: 77% of registered voters don't think the State Senate passed any new legislation and think "the senators wasted more than a month of valuable time accomplishing nothing." (Here's the PDF.) Siena's Steven Greenberg said, “Voters from every party and every region overwhelmingly reject the notion that it was good that Senators took the time to resolve their differences. Rather, there is real anger at senators - regardless of the voters‟ party affiliation or region. Although voters have long demonstrated particularly short memories, most feel that their fellow voters will remember the Senate fight next November and a plurality are already prepared to vote out incumbent senators.” Greenberg added, "Most voters in the state have an opinion about Senator Pedro Espada - and by a better than four-to-one margin it's an unfavorable opinion. Additionally, 21 percent of voters, a plurality, think Sen. Espada is most to blame for the Senate fight, followed by Senate Republicans (18%), Senate Democrats (15%) and Governor Paterson (12%)."

Every last one of these clowns should be tossed in a barrel and sent over Niagara Falls.

Seriously, even the really cheap ones are like $100-200. Just send them over the Falls - more cost-effective. Maybe the Maiden of the Mist, if their souls are found worthy, will save them.

love the picture of Espada. Perfect.

yes! he looks like a chicken caught in a tractor's nuts.

My question would be, who are the 23% that DIDN'T think the stalemate was a complete waste of time?

It appears Gothamist has slightly altered the poll wording/interpretation... unfortunately Siena did not include the full text and results of the polling (only for trends, and this wasn't a trend question).

Thanks—just readjusted it.

These douchebags will get re-elected anyway.

I bet Espada will be reelected. All that matters are the people in his district, not the outraged masses.

Hey, I was just saying how much I hate the state senate...like a bunch of angry townies in a college town, & NYC is the university.

Everyone wonders why New York State is down the tubes. One day it'll be too late to fix this state.

Espada will be re-elected because of the clueless people in "his district" who will vote for him for no other reason than his last name & ethnicity.

Fuck them all, especially Espada.
Fuck'em all to hell, and die a miserable death you fucking bastard public leeches.
