This seems fresh: Somers Town, directed by Shane Meadows, concerns two teenagers, both newcomers to London, who forge an unlikely friendship over the course of a hot summer. Tomo is a runaway from Nottingham; Marek, a Polish immigrant, lives in the district of Somers Town where his dad is working on a new rail link. Marek lets Tomo crash with him behind his father's back, and the two work odd jobs for an eccentric neighbor and compete for the attention of Maria, a beautiful young French waitress.
Time Out's Joshua Rothkopf raves, "A film you simply never want to end, Somers Town turns the pain of teenage solitude into a gooey grin of recognition. It’s essentially about the way adolescent boys connect—particularly outsiders, circling each other without the proper words... The quiet loveliness of the movie comes in its poise, pitched exactly at the moment when self-protective toughness yields to a tentative camaraderie. Rarely do directors understand their preoccupations so completely."Click on the film stills above for more details and reviews on this week's new releases and repertory screenings, which also include 500 Days of Summer, Homecoming, Death in Love, Off Jackson Avenue, Somers Town, A Woman in Berlin, The Way We Get By, Died Young, Stayed Pretty, In a Lonely Place, Flesh Gordon, The Blair Witch Project , and A Clockwork Orange.

Zooey Deschanel is freaking HOT. 500 Days of summer sounds like a good movie.
I liked her until she started talking about her boogers and saying New York is dirtier than L.A.
^It was good. This post is missing the fact that Zooey Deschanel is in 500 days of summer and that she is a friend of gothamist!!!
