For "positively one week only" Film Forum is screening a new 35mm print of Nicholas Ray's 1950 film In a Lonely Place, which stars Humphrey Bogart as a writer who gets in hot water when the coat check girl he brings home one night winds up dead. Writing about Film Forum's Ray retrospective, A.O. Scott at the Times notes that the film seethes with "unspoken paranoia and anxiety, with a sense of imminent betrayal and lurking menace."
Click on the film stills above for more details and reviews on this week's new releases and repertory screenings, which also include 500 Days of Summer, Homecoming, Death in Love, Off Jackson Avenue, Somers Town, A Woman in Berlin, The Way We Get By, Died Young, Stayed Pretty, In a Lonely Place, Flesh Gordon, The Blair Witch Project , and A Clockwork Orange.

Zooey Deschanel is freaking HOT. 500 Days of summer sounds like a good movie.
I liked her until she started talking about her boogers and saying New York is dirtier than L.A.
^It was good. This post is missing the fact that Zooey Deschanel is in 500 days of summer and that she is a friend of gothamist!!!
