- The trustee who is liquidating Bernard Madoff's estate has racked up $14 million in fees. Don't worry-payment isn't coming out of the liquidated assets: Instead, a securities industry group is paying for it.
- Former City Councilwoman and Harlem Success Academy founder Eva Moskowitz called Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer a teachers union "hack." The city is opening a public school in the same building where Moskowitz's charter school is located and the two schools are fighting for space.
- The space once belonging to Mondo Kim's record and video store on St. Marks Place is going to be opening as a new karaoke joint for the thousands of bridge and tunnelers who desperately need an alternative to Sing Sing across the street.
