- Mets 5, Dodgers 4: Oliver Perez returned and threw five decent innings as the Mets got some offense to snap a four-game losing streak and win for just the third time in 12 games. A three-run third that included RBIs from David Wright, Ryan Church and Jeremy Reed helped the Mets open this game up. Staked with a two-run lead in the ninth, Francisco Rodriguez gave up a homer to Manny Ramirez and then needed a double play to wriggle off the hook. Livan Hernandez faces Randy Wolf in Thursday's finale.
- Yankees 4, Twins 3: Alex Rodriguez -- yes, him -- had the deciding RBI as the Yankees won their second straight in Minnesota. A.J. Burnett uncorked three wild pitches and didn't have his best stuff but still got the win. He walked four and struck out only two as he pitched into th e seventh. Phil Hughes picked up Phil Coke, who served up an opposite-field homer to Joe Mauer, and Mariano Rivera got a four-out save. Alfredo Aceves starts Thursday's matinee.
