Steve McNair Slain Inside Tennesee Apartment

Former MVP quarterback Steve McNair was found dead inside a condo he rented in Nashville, TN yesterday, killed in what appears to be a murder-suicide with a woman he had been dating in recent months. The 36-year-old McNair, also known as "Air McNair," was found shot multiple times alongside 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi, who died of a single gunshot wound to the head. Police had not yet made an official ruling on the deaths, but a spokesman said, "At this moment nothing has been ruled out, but as far as actively looking for a suspect tonight, the answer would be no." The pair met while Kazemi was a waitress at Dave & Buster's and neighbors said that she had recently been seen coming home in limousines and had been driving an Escalade that she said her boyfriend had bought her. Kazemi had been arrested in that Escalade (registered to her and McNair) on Thursday for a DUI. An ex of hers told a local paper, "She did not deserve this. He was making her believe they were going to be together and everything would be perfect.” McNair, who led the Tennessee Titans to the Super Bowl in 1999 and retired from the Baltimore Ravens in 2007, leaves behind a wife and four children.

Relax. If you don't like it, don't read it. It's not like it's pushing aside actual, important NYC news. There's plenty of room on Gothamist for many topics, especially on the weekends, when news is slow. And you can't blame Billy Parker for wanting more page hits. On any given day, I don't read 90% of what's on Gothamist. That's the wonderful thing about being human and being able to ignore things rather than acting like a deer frozen in the headlights.

If that were me, I would've just kept the Escalade and whatever other gifts he gave me and bowed out gracefully if he wanted to end it. I mean she was only 20 years old, plenty of time for other married boyfriends and childrens' lives to wreck before settling for just one old used to be somebody

The only thing she did wrong was to shoot the guy and then herself.

But, then again, she was 20 - and young kids do dumb stuff like that.

Seems Like alcohol and unfulfilled male desire for validation ruined this man's life; pity just being wasn't enough. Personally, I think it's the booze. Young people who date older more successful men are often hurt, though rarely homi·cidal·ly so.
