- Yankees 6, Blue Jays 5: Jorge Posada singled home Alex Rodriguez with the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning, but the Yankees were left without starter Chien-Ming Wang, who left his start after 5 1/3 innings with what was later diagnosed as bursitis in his right shoulder. The Yankees won their second straight and ninth in 10 games.
But Wang is headed to the disabled list, and the Yankees could call on the likes of Sergio Mitre to make a start Thursday in Minnesota. The bullpen could be taxed that day, but it appears up to the challenge. After David Robertson let in a run in the top of the sixth, the relievers slammed the door. Brian Bruney, Phil Hughes, Mariano Rivera and even Brett Tomko kept Toronto off the board.
- Phillies 4, Mets 1: This game was not a good one for the No. 3 through No. 6 hitters in the Mets lineup. David Wright, Gary Sheffield, Fernando Tatis and Ryan Church failed to reach base, and Fernando Nieve's lackluster start didn't help either. He walked six batters in 5 2/3 innings and was fortunate to allow only three runs. The Mets lost two straight games to the Phillies and trail the defending world champions by three games in the National League East.

I thought only A-Rod took cream on his face, OMG it's spreading!
How about some indication as to why his face is covered in pie?
The Yankees new tradion (from AJ Burnett) is a whipped cream pie to the face for walk off wins...plus the best player of the day gets presented a plastic WWE championship wrestling belt...I love the new spirit of the Yankees.
As for the Mets...they need to do some fungo and learn how to catch pop ups...they suck.
