- An explosion injured two people at a Columbia-Presbyterian building. One is in critical condition while the other is in serious condition.
- A cruise ship carrying 848 passengers is being detained here after a small hole was found in its hull. The hole was created somewhere between Iceland and NYC.
- A Newark house fire left two people dead; one witness said it looked like a "blow torch," with the flames "shooting [out] and curling over." The cause is still under investigation.
