Save the Nightlife from... Something

While you were out enjoying the night for no reason, others were out enjoying the night for a cause. And that cause is to be able to enjoy many nights, more often, forever and ever. The Nightlife Preservation Community... is something that exists, and it was launched by the NY Nightlife Association on Monday. It's here to help you go out more often, stay out later, and age quicker—like Chloe Sevigny over there.

The kick off event was held at M2 Ultralounge and according to the invite we got, was to be "attended by hundreds of industry owners, managers and employees as well as many elected officials." Miss Sevigny hosted (donning a plea to free her brother's nightclub) and the plan is to mobilize the troops and "get behind elected officials and candidates for public office who understand how important the cultural, economic and social roles, a vibrant night time economy plays for New York City."

According to the press release, last year more people enjoyed nightlife in the city "than The Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Giants, Jets, Rangers, all Broadway shows and the Metropolitan Museum combined." Way to go, everyone. So wait, just what is the big threat nightlife needs saving from? Guest of a Guest explains, "The NPC is taking on the fun police to save New York City... right now special interests and unproductive legislation is straining an industry that employs over 20,000 people and supports the local economy."

And the NPC itself declares they want to "create greater awareness of the issues that affect the entire hospitality business, and indeed, the issues that impact NY's image worldwide as the global capital and the City that Never Sleeps." Was there an open bar pouring Absolut Vague before this mission statement was written?

She is great actress, I love her in Big Love, also her movies are great such as Boys don't cry, Party Monster, Brown Bunny etc. She has a great body but don't dress to flaunt it.

I'm curious as to which politicians would be dumb enough to show up to this thing.

  • felixthecat2

John Liu who takes kickbacks to introduce bill or sponsor them and also whose father is in jail for bank fraud. Don't trust him, he is so Sneaky. Have to go, my boss has left for meeting and it's my only chance to escape. Freedom at last. ;D

  • thefacts

QRaymond wanted to know who the politicians were who attended the event. As I stated, there were six: Yassky, Brewer, Gioia, Gentile, Lappin, and Vallone.

Liu was NOT there. Why would you infer he was? Or past aspersions on him that you have no proof of? Or blame the sins of the father on the son?

Please stick to the question QRaymond posed.

  • felixthecat2

    Where you there?

  • thefacts

Eric Gioia and David Yassky, who are running for city-wide offices and will pimp themselves out for dirty campaign money. Their homes in Flushing and Park Slope do not suffer from a plague of drunken B&T louts.

Two guidos, Peter Vallone and Vinny Gennaro, whose neighborhoods of Astoria and Bay Ridge have no bothersome clubs either. Two phonies.

Finally, Jessica Lappin and Gale Brewer, whose districts also are relatively club-free. Both are dogs. Maybe they were looking to be picked up. LOL

All six obviously would sell out a community beset with club problems for a few campaign dollars.

@ "thefacts": would you consider your mother, sister, or grandmother dogs? What exactly do you look like? Tell us about how your clothes fit. What's your hairstyle? Do you look good for your age? The reason I ask is because I'm wondering if you're as ugly on the outside as you are on the inside.

@ "felixthecat2": I don't see what the point is about dragging someone's father into this. If you want to complain about Liu's policy stances, fine. But to go after his family makes you as classless as "thefacts".

Both of your comments speak to a broader issue, which is the ease with which anonymous trolls can insult people without any repercussions. Would either of you say these things to these Electeds' faces directly? I am comfortable knowing that I could tell any of these people that going to this event is a dumb move. Could you repeat your comments to them as easily?

  • thefacts

Since you inquired, you will be educated. But this is the last time I will take the bait from a pathetic, obsessive troll.

Actually, friends frequently tell me that my elderly mother is "cute looking". I remember my grandmother as being attractive and sweet. I have no sister.

I have had many lovers. Some were models (Ford); others, women in power. They have said I was attractive. But what they really liked about me, so they say, was my sense of humor and intelligence. They also really, really liked the sex.

When people learn my age, they do not believe it, saying "You look ten years younger." Perhaps my healthy diet and exercise help play a part. Perhaps genetics.

Yes, I have often told electeds my opinion to their face. They respect me for that. I expect to tell Yassky that he made a mistake when I see him later this week. Have you ever sat down and spoken to an elected official once in your life?

As for you, I shall say a little prayer for you tortured soul and lack of gratitude, even when having your inane question answered.

i can't wait until this lobby of idiots starts choking up city politics... and effecting policy. maybe they can get some of those pesky, noise-sensitive tenants removed from the buildings surrounding those hotel bars that seem to be so popular downtown.
