Yankees 15 Mets 0: Johan Santana had the worst start of his career, giving up nine earned runs and the Yankees pounded their way to a Subway Series win. While the game ended in a blowout, it was the bottom of the second and the top of the third that proved critical. In their half of the second, the Yankees scored four times, all with two outs to jump out to an early lead. The Mets loaded the bases with no outs in the third, but failed to score when Alex Cora was called out on a bad call, Fernando Martinez struck out and Carlos Beltran hit a liner to short.

The Yankees blew the game open in the 4th, scoring nine times in the frame. Hideki Matsui and Robinson Cano homered in the inning, Melky Cabrera added two doubles and the Yankees sent Santana to an early shower.

AJ Burnett managed to protect the 13-run lead and worked seven shutout innings. Derek Jeter went 4-for-4 and Robinson Cano and Francisco Cervelli each had three hits. The Yankees have a day off before hosting Washington starting on Tuesday. The Mets will also have a day off before opening a series in Baltimore Tuesday.

Uh... right. 9 games over in June, second place... two games out, but if the season ended today they'd be the wild card.

What a disaster, huh?

yeah wlth a billion dollar payroll and a taxpayer swindled stadium it's great to see the Yankee fans are out in full force. Imagine in Wang could actually pitch? Geez..

Yep, thanks for paying your taxes. I had a lot of fun in "your" stadium this weekend.

Someone set the difficulty setting to "Rookie" today.
