Kitten Saved After Being Thrown From Truck

2009_06_kitten.jpg A little kitten survived not only being thrown from a truck but also being trapped in the wheel well of another car in Staten Island. The Post reports that the black-and-white 8-week-old tabby, named Lucky after her ordeal, was spotted by Family Court Judge Catherine DiDomenico. (Video of the super adorable cat after the jump.) DiDomenico was driving on Hylan Boulevard when a truck driver in front of her threw the kitten out the window. The stopped her car—which other drivers were not pleased about—to look for the kitten, "I looked down. I looked to the left. I looked to the right. I didn't see the kitten," but she spotted the kitten behind the left wheel. DiDomenico said, "As my wheel spun, she jumped into the wheel well and her claw became stuck in the suspension. Clearly she was very lucky. She is one brave kitty. This kitten defied an act of brutality." The NYPD Emergency Service Unit help extract Lucky, who was given a clean bill of health and is up for adoption at Staten Island Animal Care & Control in Tottenville. And the cops are still looking for the truck driver.

An act of evil counteracted by an act of compassion. But true justice will only be served when the truck driver himself is thrown into traffic from a moving vehicle.

Hope kitty is adopted by a non-psycho.

I'm more amazed that Catherine DiDomenico survived stopping her car on Hylan Boulevard. Don't get between a Staten Island goomba and his gas pedal.

Thanks to this type of senseless brutality by everyday psychos, evil materializes! This type deserves to be exterminated and only stopped when exposed.

Why not put cat and widower on Nicoderm? It'd be a lot healthier for both of them.

A truck driver. Big surprise. Probably one of those "manly men" who has to prove his masculinity (even to himself) by having disdain for anything soft and small.

I must pass on this little story. My husband and I own several+++++gasp++++tobacco stores. One of our employees is a 45 yr old widower who lost his wife to cancer several yrs ago. He works week-ends for something to do. He spends his other evenings sitting on the couch, with his ever faithful cat at his side, watching television. Several months ago he quit smoking for 6 weeks. During that 6 week period, ever faithful cat ripped off all of it's fur down it's spine. Vet was at a complete loss as to cause. Mike began smoking again and ever faithfull quit ripping fur and it returned. Vet concluded ever faithfull was also addicted to nicotine and had bad withdrawal when Mike quit smoking. Sadly, as a smoker, I understand ever-faithfulls frustration. They are both back in their places, Mike smoking and ever-faithfull inhaling second-hand smoke.
