Unsettled is this week's weather theme. The primarily west-to-east flow of the summer jet stream will let surface fronts flop around like an oversized Montauk Monster in its death throes. Okay, we're not exactly sure what that analogy is supposed to mean, but there's a weak cold front approaching the city today. The front will stall south of town and make the humid air less stable, leading to an increasing chance of showers from this afternoon through tomorrow. Look for highs in the 70s both days.
Wednesday will be the lone dry day of the work week. Sunny skies and a high in the upper 70s are expected. Another slow moving front means clouds and more rain are likely toward the end of the week. With any luck that system will be out of here in time for a dry Flag Day weekend.

I'd just like to be able to bike into work consistantly. It's either too much chance of rain or balls hot.
Saw a lot of bike commuters on the Manhattan Bridge when I was on the subway this morning. A few of them looked like they had on their work/office clothes. Eesh, they'll be drenched in sweat by the time they hit their desks.
I'll take crappy weather on the weekdays if it cooperates on the weekends. Fridays included please!
drenched in sweat - no. relaxed and happy after a nice 10 miles of (fairly) fresh air - yes.
Sorry, no, I commute by bike if the forecast doesn't call for rain. My route is 10.5 miles, including the MB, and there's no way in hell anyone can ride that distance at a reasonable pace without getting sweaty - especially on a day like today, humid and hot. Wearing office clothes to commute 10 miles (even 5 miles) is a certain way to have chest, back, pit, and butt sweat stains.
So yeah, the point is to wear cycling specific clothing. You may think you look silly in lycra, but you'll look even sillier with sweat and salt stains on your clothes as you walk in the office.
Relaxed and happy? Yes! Not sweaty and fresh? NO!
That is so funny. That is me on the bike! I look like a bike messenger on Governor's Island....
