Two men were shot dead in East Flatbush outside a barbershop on Avenue A last night. The Daily News reports that 38-year-old Lennox Lewis and 26-year-old Dwayne Pascoe were gunned down in front of Diffrance Barbershop while they were hanging out with friends just after 8 p.m. (Earlier reports said that the two men had gotten into a fight when they shot each other.) Also injured was Pascoe's father, who is in critical condition at Brookdale Hospital. Both murder victims were also fathers—Lewis had three children and Pascoe two, with one on the way. Apparently the bodies of both men remained on the sidewalk for several hours. A neighbor told NY1, "Nobody deserves to die like that and to have to lay in the street and for everybody just be gawking at their bodies 'cause it was just a horrible scene before the police got here, they were just laying there."

Well there goes the possibility of a Mike Tyson vs. Lennox Lewis rematch.
I live two blocks away from where this happened. It's a classic case of a quiet, middle class community of homeowners being infiltrated and victimized by scum from nearby Brownsville and other areas.
Incidentally, this is the exact same neighborhood where a corrections officer-- who earned every penny of his motorcycle by working for it-- was murdered because these same "elements" wanted it. So that makes three ppl dead on Avenue A within the year, on three block stretch.
The bodies remained on the sidewalk for several hours? Frankly, just like the myth of Kitty Genovese getting stabbed for 20 minutes while 40 people looked on (look it up it didn't happen the way most people think it happened*) I don't believe this either. Maybe 10 minutes while someone called 911 and the police showed up.
* Most people don't believe that the Kitty Genovese story is the biggest urban legend ever (taught in psychology courses and even mentioned in the Watchmen "graphic novel") so here it goes.
40 people heard Kitty's single scream after she was stabbed and they were all labeled as witnesses by the police. After she screamed her assailant ran away but followed her as she staggered towards her apartment building. She looked just like a drunk from the bar right next to where this happened, so those who saw her from their windows went back to watching TV. The killer assaulted her again in her building lobby. Total time from first attack to second, twenty minutes.
The bodies probably were on the sidewalk for a few hours. But, this was probably done so detectives could complete their investigation of the crime scene.
"...38-year-old Lennox Lewis ... gunned down..."
Maybe Detective Holyfield will crack the case and report to Commissioner Don King that it was indeed a scandalous case of cold blooded murder.
