Besides booze, beer (six on tap), wine, and sake, Williamsburg's Nita Nita also does brunch and small plates. Jen Carlson had her birthday party there last year and everyone sat outside talking about Obama. Not to name-drop or anything, but the woman who played Becky on Roseanne was there; her boyfriend poked a stick at an enormous spider web, and we thought he was destroying it, but he swore he was just trying to get the spider to move. Anyway, the web survived.
Nita Nita's garden is open weekdays until 11 p.m., weekends to midnight. // 146 Wythe Avenue, Brooklyn // (718) 388-5328(Photo: Katie Sokoler/Gothamist)
Click on the images above for details on 13 other sweet spots for al fresco drinking, including the Extreme WOW (Presidential) Suites in Midtown East, Ortine in Prospect Heights, Spuyten Duyvil in Williamsburg, T.B.D. in Greenpoint, Studio Square in Long Island City, The Diamond in Greenpoint, LIC Bar in Long Island City, Nita Nita in Williamsburg, Huckleberry Bar in East Williamsburg, The Hotel Gansevoort in the Meatpacking District, Vutera in Williamsburg, 5 Ninth in the Meatpacking District, and The Brooklyn Ice House in Red Hook.
Yes, most of those are in Brooklyn, but that's also where most of the space and most of the still-somewhat-tolerant neighbors are to be found. And before you rush to the comments to wonder why we didn't include your favorite place like Revel, we'd like to acknowledge that this selection is highly, um, selective. How could we have omitted Williamsburg's Iona, Carroll Gardens' Gowanus Yacht Club, Astoria's Bohemian Beer Garden, the Water Taxi Beaches, and the Hudson River's Frying Pan? If you only knew how many drinks we had to force down to put this together, perhaps you'd understand. Anyway, let us know where your favorite spot is so we can all go there once it stops raining this weekend!

Good stuff. Nice to read an article that I can use rather than make a snarky passive/aggressive comment on.
Ps - Woody Allen is a Pedo.
Thanks so much for compiling an easy map to everywhere I will be going for the next couple of months!
Also, the Cabana at the Maritime Hotel. In my opinion one of the best rooftop bars in the city.
5 Ninth? Really? It's an alley with some plantings. You guys need to do better!
Location, baby. Plus it's a nice refuge against the tide of...those people.
I enjoy partaking in some Welsh Rarebit fondue, mini cheeseburgers and the house draught in the modest but adorable garden behind Black Rabbit Bar in Greenpoint (http://blackrabbitbar.com/) at 91 Greenpoint Avenue (between Manhattan and Franklin).
Also, Sunday night Bingo is a blast, but I think you need to sit indoors for it.
ladies and gentlemen, the gansevoort sucks. oh please, let me drink my $9 beer in a plastic glass from walmart along with a douchey crowd.
What about Mé Bar on E. 32 between 5th and Broadway? Great rooftop bar and staff with an incredible view of the ESB. It's on the top of the La Quinta in Korea Town. A must.
