MP3 Experiment Storms Roosevelt Island

This past Saturday Improv Everywhere held their sixth MP3 Experiment on Roosevelt Island (just a few days after Charlie Todd's book on the troupe hit stores). There's not much info yet on what exactly went down, but it appears there were inflatable weapons, primary colors, confused residents, synchronized fun and much more (get the mp3 that soundtracked the day here). Katie Sokoler was there to document the whole thing, and IE promises some video in the future.

White people...wonderful candidates fro extinction.

If it were up to me, while they were dancing around like fools, I'd Bomb all bridges and subways leading into and out of Roosevelt Island, then Nuke the entire area.

Enough with this hipster shit. Memorial day weekend is about honoring our fallen soldiers, having good BBQ, and participating in Memorial day sales at Macy's.

And for celebrating the freedom to do whatever you want to do without worrying about some dipshit that wants to bomb you into oblivion because he may not agree with what you're doing even though what you're doing hurts no one. I'm just sayin'...

Overall the bulk of residents did not even know it was taking place but those of us that did venture into the area were amazed at the number of participants. My question is would it have had the same effect if Southpoint Park had already been turned into the Louis Kahn / FDR Memorial? I think part of the fun was the open raw feeling of Southpoint Park as it now stands.

What exactly was the purpose of this debauchery? Totally useless.

Debauchery has no purpose, except fun. But, this is way too lame to qualify.
If you don't need bail money or a ride to the ER, it's not debauchery.

Lighten up, guys. It's fun to take a break from sitting in front of the computer and judging people once in a while. I went to this and had a blast. So suck it!

I TOTALLY AGREE. My friend and I went and we had a BLAST too. I don't know if it was supposed to mean anything, it was just fun. It took us back in time to when we were little and the most important thing you had to worry about was who was "it" :-)

This makes me so happy to be older and married and have kids whose sports teams I coach so I don't have so much time on my hands and the need to invent random amusement to fill the hours.
